introduction of Titleist’s Pro V1 and other similar balls more than
a decade ago changed the game at the professional level. Driving
distance skyrocketed, rendering many classic golf courses helpless
in the wake of the super-charged balls.
Talking heads continue to fret about the impact of distance on the
game.
Meanwhile, most of us couldn’t hit a 300-yard drive with the
benefit of the roll an airport runway provides.
So what’s the average mid to high handicapper supposed to do when
prepping for his next Myrtle Beach golf trip? Paying $48 for a dozen balls
and losing three of them en route...
