Rivers Edge, one of the Myrtle Beach area's most scenic golf courses, installed new paspalum greens this summer. The sodium tolerant grass is ideal for Rivers Edge, which is set along the salty Shallotte River. The course reopened after two months and the early reviews have been positive. Get a look and listen to what golfers have to say about the golf course and its new greens.

The greens look perfect. All where in great shape on Aug 11, 2010. But you need to play them differently. They are very slow even in the heat of the afternoon when completely dry. Also I thought they took a lot of the break out of the greens. Even downhill puts have to be stroked. It takes some getting used to. Expect your first time playing these greens to be a learning expereince and I'm sure they're great once you get used to them. Course is in great shape. The resistance to heat and salt of these greens is certainly evident as this summer has been extremely hot and humid.
