Tropical Storm Hanna came ashore along the North Carolina-South Carolina state line in the early hours of Saturday morning. Mercifully the Myrtle Beach golf community avoided any significant damage. There was, obviously, heavy wind and rain, but but beyond a few down tree limbs and some standing water, the area was unscathed. Only a handful of courses were closed on Saturday, and every area course was open on Sunday.
Fate smiled on the Myrtle Beach area this weekend. Let's hope it does the same for those in the Gulf threatened by Hurrican Ike.
