The good times of a Myrtle Beach golf trip continue long after the final putt drops and that’s particularly true in October. The idyllic fall weather brings an assortment of entertainment possibilities and we are here to help you sort through the choices. Here are five recommended events unique to this weekend:
1. Myrtle Beach Wine Festival at Market Common, October 22, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. - You can’t have beer and wings after every round, and the Wine Festival is a refreshing change of pace. Held at Market Common, festival goers will enjoy live music and the opportunity to sample more than 100 wines from across America and the globe. View a complete wine list and prepare to enjoy one Myrtle Beach’s premier events this fall.
2. George Jones at Alabama Theatre, October 22, 7 p.m. – If classic country music is your sweet spot, there are few better than the Possum, George Jones. The legendary, country crooner has almost as many No. 1 hit songs as there top 100 Myrtle Beach golf courses!
3. Mellowpalooza at Mellow Mushroom, October 22, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. – The second annual Mellowpalooza will feature live music from Jim Mowery, Clay Crotts, Skitch, Treehouse, and Sawgrass. Mellow Mushroom is a family establishment but the bar area and patio offers a good time without going over the top.
4. Comedy Cabana, Bob Nelson, October 21, 8 p.m. – A contemporary of Jerry Seinfeld, Nelson has made multiple appearances on the Merv Griffin Show, the Tonight Show and Letterman and he opened for Rodney Dangerfield for eight years. Nelson’s resume might lead some to believe that he hasn’t told a new joke in 15+ years, but the Comedy Cabana rarely delivers a bad act! I’m betting on Nelson being worth the price of admission.
5. Paul Grimshaw Band, Dead Dog Saloon, October 21, 8 p.m. – Grimshaw is a regular at Dead Dog, but if you are looking for entertainment in Murrells Inlet, this is a good place to start. Dead Dog overlooks the Inlet and the view from the deck is spectacular.
