David Feherty had the crowd in stitches.jpgFor the second consecutive year, Golf Magazine columnist and CBS analyst David Feherty will highlight the entertainment at the Golf.com World Amateur Handicap Championship.

One of golf’s wittiest voices, Feherty will bring his irreverent (and insightful) views on the game and life to the World’s Largest 19th Hole on Thursday, September 1.

Last year Feherty regaled World Am players with tales from his life on the course and in the broadcast booth, lending star power and a surplus of laughs to the tournament.

“We are thrilled to welcome David Feherty back to the World’s Largest 19th Hole,” said Dave Macpherson, the Golf.com World Amateur Handicap Championship tournament director. “It was a blast having him here last year, and it will, again, add considerably to the experience World Am players enjoy.”

Feherty played on both the European and PGA Tours, winning five times on the European circuit and twice finishing in the top 10 in the Order of Merit. He played two years on the PGA Tour, recording a second place finish at the New England Open. Feherty had three top 10 finishes in the Majors, including a fourth place effort at the 1994 British Open, and he played in the famed 1991 Ryder Cup, scoring 1.5 points.

In addition to his golf work, Feherty has become a tireless advocate for American troops wounded in combat (the link takes you to a must-read story), using his celebrity and humor to make a difference in the lives of people who have sacrificed dearly for our freedom.

A native of Northern Ireland, Feherty has also authored three best-selling books: A Nasty Bit of Rough, Somewhere in Ireland a Village Is Missing an Idiot, and David Feherty's Totally Subjective History of the Ryder Cup.

Feherty, Annika Sorenstam and Jeff Gordon, among others, have headlined the entertainment at the 19th Hole.
