Low-cost airline, Allegiant Air, LLC,a subsidiary of Allegiant Travel Company (NASDAQ: ALGT), today inaugurates low-cost, nonstop service from Fort Wayne, Ind. to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the Golf Capital of the World. To celebrate, the company is offering a special $49.99* one-way fare and a FREE** night hotel stay at Allegiant preferred hotels in the premier golf and beach destination.
“We are extremely pleased to again expand the Allegiant brand of low-fare, nonstop jet service in the Fort Wayne community,” said Maurice J. Gallagher, Allegiant chairman and chief executive officer. “This is an exciting new addition for our airline and our customers as we launch the only nonstop service between Fort Wayne and Myrtle Beach.”
The new flights operate two times weekly with service Monday and Friday. Flights depart Fort Wayne International Airport at 4:40 p.m. arriving in Myrtle Beach International Airport at 6:30 p.m. Flights depart Myrtle Beach at 2:10 p.m. arriving in Fort Wayne at 4 p.m. (all flight times are local). Allegiant also offers nonstop flights to two other vacation destinations from Fort Wayne; Orlando, Fla. and the Tampa Bay area.
Allegiant will utilize 150-seat, MD-80 series, jet-aircraft on the route. The airline said its research and input from local community leaders indicate the Fort Wayne community will welcome the new nonstop flights and low fares to Myrtle Beach.
