Dave
Genevro, General Manager of Barefoot Resort talks about the layout,
and how it stacks up against other courses.
"The course is a Pete Dye design. Known, of the four courses on
site, probably as one of the toughest courses," says Genevro. It's
definitely a course that you have to play more than once to
appreciate. A lot of people who play it for the first time, they
think it's too difficult. But it just comes out to finding out a
lot of times where you don't want to hit it, versus where to hit it
to make it more comfortable playing."
On rumors that the 18th hole is one of the toughest in...

Did you know Myrtle Beach features two courses designed by Jack
Nicklaus? We're lucky enough to have The Long Bay Club on the North side, and Pawleys Plantation Golf Club on the south. If
you're interested in playing them, either contact them directly, or
ask your golf director to include them in your Myrtle Beach golf package.
The
soothing tranquility and serene nature that run through Meadowlands Golf Club emulate the lifestyle associated
with its Calabash, N.C., home.
Meadowlands Golf Club is home to a 7,054-yard course – from the
challenging Raven tees – built by architect Willard Byrd in 1997.
High-handicappers need not worry as the course, much like its
staff, is friendly to all guests. Meadowlands’ design integrates
five different teeing areas for all skill levels, as well as large
greens and spacious fairways.
Players on a Myrtle Beach golf trip escape to Meadowlands and get
lost in a good way, amid a...

Some
of the best Myrtle Beach golf advice one can receive before
visiting is updated information on the new roads that have been
built on the Grand Strand.
Longtime visitors may recall the days when tourists and locals
alike were limited to Highway 17 to go north and south and Highway
501 to go east and west.
That meant some long commutes to go from North
Myrtle Beach to Pawleys Island or from Myrtle Beach to Conway.
Fortunately, those days are in the past.
The recent additions of Highway 22, an alternate connection between
Myrtle Beach and Conway, and Highway 31, which runs from Little
River...Read More » »

Myrtle
Beach golf courses have one of golf’s most aggressive family
outreach programs and it’s getting ready to reach its zenith.
Memorial Day is in the rearview mirror, marking the unofficial
start of summer and an increasingly popular shoulder
golf season. Historically, summer in Myrtle Beach has
meant sunscreen, beach toys and swimming in the Atlantic, and that
remains true.
But families that make an annual pilgrimage to the Grand Strand are
increasingly packing golf clubs alongside their bogey boards.
More than 40 Myrtle Beach golf courses, including five that have
been ranked among...

booking a Myrtle Beach golf package maximizes the fun of your
trip.
1. It makes everything easy: It’s much more efficient to
book lodging and golf in one act as...
